今年(ことし)最初(さいしょ)のクラスでした。
We talked about the event of new year in Japan and Malaysia.
日本とマレーシアの新年行事(しんねんぎょうじ)などについて、話(はなし)をしました。
In Japan, we sometimes give money to the children on the new year day.
It’s called “Otoshidama” in Japanese.
In Malaysia, they give money to children when they celebrate the end of Ramadan, not on New Year's Day.
日本では、お正月に子供(こども)へお年玉(おとしだま)をあげることがありますが、マレーシアでは、お正月ではなく、ラマダンが終(お)わったお祝い(おいわい)の時に子供にお金をあげる習慣(しゅうかん)があるそうです。
I teach them Japanese but I learn some culture of Malaysia from them.
It’s really enjoyable time to me;)
日本語を教えながら、マレーシアの文化も学べる。
とっても楽しい時間でした。
