Some of you might feel skeptical about whale’s emoji, even though there’s no reason to use it for Japanese class. I used it because today is “The Whale Day” in Japan 😊
Anyway, we did group discussion to achieve having the advanced levels of Japanese.

At the end of the discussion, Vietnamese told us that she could understand three of our personalities for 80 percent 😂 You can know how we did a heated discussion.

【Chosen topic -Learning Kanji-】
Vietnamese told us that there’s no tough things except for learning Japanese particularly in Kanji. Sadly, she hates Japanese the most among other subjects… I hope that she will fall in love with “Japanese” which is our language through our classes:)
ベトナムの留学生(りゅうがくせい)は、日本語(にほんご)の授業(じゅぎょう)に一番苦手意識(いちばんにがていしき)を感(かん)じているようです。この活動(かつどう)を通(とお)して、日本語(にほんご)を好(す)きになってもらえたらな、と思(おも)っています。
Because “Kanji” is originated from China, I thought that people who speaks Chinese can master it easily. Chinese letters in China also has lots of meanings in each letters, although it’s hard for student who stayed in China to master how to read it. It was surprising fact.
漢字(かんじ)は、中国起源(ちゅうごくきげん)なので、中国語(ちゅうごくご)を話(はな)す人(ひと)にとっては簡単(かんたん)なのかと思(おも)っていましたが、そうではないそうです。書(か)くのは簡単(かんたん)でも、読(よ)むのが難(むずか)しいそうで、とても驚(おどろ)かされました。
【Reflection】
Even though our class was for two hours, we couldn’t finish talking the topics which we wanted 🌝 This is in terms of satisfaction 🌻🌻🌻 I know that she could have a bit more interest in learning Japanese than before. We’re looking forward to chatting with you over screen 😊 We’re overwhelmingly waiting for you to join us next Saturday!!!

All of us told each other that “とてもたのしかった” at the end of the class.
Although we could feel satisfied our conversation all the time, sharing our hometown was the best because we had different backgrounds from Thailand, China and Japan😊
# Room2
Because Thailand is more religious countries than Japan, they have “Obon festivals” three times a year!! It’s surprising for me at least.
According to Thai student’s philosophy, people in or from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are happy people because their government doesn’t have too strict rules as in Japan😅
# Room3
Everyone can understand the word, “Part time job”, but the definitions are definitely depended on countries and regions.
In Japan, if you say that we think directly that you can earn your money per hour.
For Vietnamese, it means that they count their salary every two hours, not one hour. I don’t know which one is better cuz it depends on the wage😂

He learned about it with facial expressions and examples in real life. I will put words which he’ve learned below. I don’t understand almost all of that words though; I will not put translation for it because I don’know😂 If you have an interest, just search on the google.

The deadline is coming, so we tried hard to keep their concentration. Although it was difficult for us, we make sure that they could be close to the end of their homework😊

We were so surprised because she put slip on her homework book where she doesn’t know how to solve ！
わからないもんだいにふせんをつけてたそうで、とてもおどろかされました。
I’m so shy to tell you about this but I had not used slip for these reasons when I was elementary school students 🤣
わたしがしょうがくせいのころは、そんなことをしたおぼえがまったくなくおはずかしいかぎりです。
Because they are Muslim, they usually don’t have a custom to drink alcohol. That’s why it was too difficult for her sister to understand what is beer🍺
イスラムきょうとなので、「ビール」というたんごをりかいするのにじかんがかかったようです。
I think she caught a kind of culture shock:)
カルチャーショックですね。

Actually, one of us became a student of him to practice how to make a conversation in English 😂
しえんしゃがわが「えいかいわきょうしつのさんかしゃ」になりました。
This kind of situation is our another destiny 👼🏻because “Class should not be one way, it’s for learning 🤝each other 🤝.”
いっぽうてきにおしえるのではなく、おたがいにおしえあうというのはりそうのかたちですね。

おもしろいスラングを2つおしえてもらいました。

Also, as what he told us, sushi restaurants in Thailand tend to decorate their restaurants with Japanese lamps with words like “Takoyaki” and “Yakitori”, even though they don’t provide them😂
タイのがくせいさんによると、タイのおすしやさんにはメニューにないのに「たこやき」「やきとり」とかかれたちょうちんがさがっているらしいです。
We have more funny and interesting episodes, but I stop to share it now because I need to eat lunch🍛

I’m a supporter who attended this class, but I didn’t know all of the dialects which another supporter from Kagoshima introduced attendance. It was very difficult 😂
わたしは、しえんしゃとしてさんかしていましたが、きっすいのかごしまけんみんのかたがしょうかいされていた、かごしまべんをひとつもしりませんでした。わたしとしてもよいべんきょうになりました。
(2)Shiritori
Today’s attendance only has a subtle accent problems, so we tried to enjoy “Shiritori” which is a kind of word game in Japan.
きょうのさんかしゃは、はつおんにすこしふあんがあるくらいだったので、しりとりもしてみました。
(3)Famous tourist spots in Vietnam
He introduced us some famous places to visit like “Hoian” and foods, “Pho”, “Banh mi” and “Bun cha”.
ベトナムのホイアンなどオススメかんこうスポットや、フォー、バインミー、ブンチャなどのめいぶつりょうりもおしえていただきました。

We introduced “Senganen” and “Camphorwood in Kamou-cho”.

We introduce our family. When we did self-introduction, we shared our name, university, major in study and plan for future. We also talked about our pet and the place that we had travelled and we want to travel. We also talked about vaccine and Covid19’s situation in Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.

The 2nd grade student (A-chan) finished her homework. Good job A-chan. After that, she played Hiragana and Katakana Karuta with her younger sister. They played on the floor and use legs instead of hands. That was very fun.
Their father did another online Japanese class homework. He struggled with hiragana and katakana before but he look very happy studying communication in Japanese. He is very good at applying the words that he had learned and use it when do communication practice with the volunteers. He also improve very much in Japanese. Good job!
Aちゃんは宿題（しゅくだい）を終（お）わらせました。そのあと、妹（いもうと）とカルタゲームをしました。普通（ふつう）のカルタゲームではなくて、カルタを床（ゆか）に置（お）いて足（あし）でゲームしました。変（へん）なやり方（かた）ですが、面白（おもしろ）かったです。
お父様（とうさま）は別（べつ）のオンライン授業（じゅぎょう）の宿題（しゅくだい）をしました。今（いま）まで書（か）く練習（れんしゅう）ばっかりで大変（たいへん）でしたが、会話練習（かいわれんしゅう）に入ってからすごく楽（たの）しかったとお父様（とうさま）が言（い）っていました。
ボランティアたちと会話（かいわ）する時（とき）に習（なら）った単語（たんご）を何度（なんど）も使（つか）って練習（れんしゅう）しました。

教材（きょうざい）を画面共有（がめんきょうゆう）するなど、オンラインのメリットも活用（かつよう）できました！
Wi-Fiやパソコン（ぱそこん）が使（つか）えない場合（ばあい）のやり方（かた）についても考（かんが）えていきたいです！
We shared the textbook on zoom so that we can see the textbook together!
There were some troubles when we do Japanese class on zoom.
(For example: Wifi connection, pc or smartphone…)
Let’s find better ways to do better online class together!!!!!
